The Wall

You will not believe how difficult it was to download this picture. I posted earlier about how I decided to paint my own wall mural. I picked out different ideas online and put them together in my own way. I drew it out and have a file full of other details and inspiration to look at while I'm painting.

But this is the base.

I scanned in my drawing and it wouldn't open on blogger. I don't know why. So I did what any other self respecting blogger would do.

I took a picture of it.

So, the floor was laid yesterday.

It is beautiful and I am happy.

The Circus, Parades and Bathroom Tubs

Last weekend, hubby and I took the kids to the circus. The Barnum & Bailey's 200 anniversary circus. This was a big deal, cause the middle boy went with us! The oldest boy, nearly 20, understandable didn't want to go. But other than that, it was the whole crew.

Hubby took the girl down to the pre-show. They had lots of activities to walk around and see/do.

Proof of bike renovations

Remember how I changed my breaklight on my bike? Remember how doing so kept me off my bike for like 3 weeks because I couldn't figure out the wiring?

I finally brought pictures for everyone!

I forgot a before shot. So, you will just have to look at this stock photo and notice how the breaklight sticks out like a bumble bee butt.

Soccer and a football game

The girl has started playing soccer. And to tell you the truth, she wasn't very good. But, I didn't even know she wasn't very good cause I"m not really a sporty kinda gal. So, the fireman went with us to her first game, after 1 practice and he was all, "Oh my..."

I'm all, "what?"

"Oooh, she's not very good at this."

"Really? But she, like, TOTALLY kicked that ball once!"

"Yeah, and then she moved aside to let the other team have a turn."

"Oh, yeah. I see your point."

So, since he coached the boys when they were small and in soccer, he has been taking her to practice once or twice a week to the park nearby. Now she's one of the better players on the team!

A Week's Review

Lots of little things. I've been bad little blogger, busy, busy.

The girl has started soccer. First time ever to play it. She's doing good, considering. A little hesitant, maybe, but she'll get it. The coach is super good about teaching the placement and 'jobs', instead of letting them run wild.

Buying soccer equipment is an experience! Getting it on is even harder. Lordy, those shin guards and socks are TIGHT!

Dieting success

I am pleased to say that the Dukan diet did what it promised for me. I reached 167 10 days before planned, and have successfully went into stage 3 Consolidation with success.

One of the things that I really like about this diet is that it has timelines for the diet. You know that if you do (these) things you will get (these) results and by (this) date. It helps keep the determination. The second most important thing is that it tells you how to reenter the normal eating world. The 3rd phase is all about adding normal food back to the diet and keeping the weight off. It's as important as the entire diet. Actually, the time you spend in it is longer than the first two phases.

Most diet's get you to a goal and then, poof, leave you dry. What do you do now? How do you eat? Do you stay on it your whole life? Who can do that?
