Well, the diet has been going well. I am down to 170 and my goal is 167. So, I'm in the long stretch, folks. The girl and I are leaving on a jet plane to Denver, Friday morning for my cousins wedding.
I have 3 lbs to lose. I realllllly want wedding cake.
Once I meet my goal, the next phase of the diet is consolidation phase. In this phase, you take 5 days for each pound lost. So, I have to stay in it for about 2 months. BUT it's super easy and the equivalent easy dieting. I add 2 pieces of wheat bread or tortillas per day, 1 cup-sized serving of fruit and 1-2 starches per week. AND I get 1-2 celebration meals per week. Meaning, anything you want as long as it's only 1 serving size. That's including dessert.
This phase is because my body is stripping every calorie from my food as it's burning faster. Our bodies are programmed to store fat and we are more likely to gain back weight lost from a diet right away as your body is trying to regain what you've lost. So, this phase lets us slowly feel comfortable with the weight and add foods back in slowly and just maintain our new weight.
If I can lose the last 3 lbs in the next week, I can use the wedding night for my first celebration meal.
It keeps me focused.
Hubby is officially at his halfway mark. He's doing great. The diet is so easy for him since he loves meat, that he's content with it and happily working towards his second half.

Catching up and a radical hiking photo op
Last week I was busy catching up from taking time off work for the Dells vacation. The hardest part of taking time off is making up for it. But in the long run, it's still worth it. I get there.
Otherwise, it was a nice week. We didn't get a ton done waround the house, mostly little things. I did get the girl's curtains hung in her room, white sheers and we got a larger shelf put up over her toy trunk. This now has her television and dvd player on it so that she can lay in bed and watch tv. We've been putting her to bed 30 min early so that she has time to watch tv or read before bed. It helps her relax. She likes the quiet time. A girl after my own heart.

Wisconsin Dells
We spent Wednesday - Friday at the Wisconsin Dells, at the Mt. Olympus water/theme park to be exact. Loads of fun.
Definitely a kid's vacation.
I am sooo sooo glad that we planned it so that we came home Friday evening and I had the weekend to recover.
High. Energy. Vacation.
Wednesday, we left around 8am, got there around 1pm, drove around and saw the downtown areas and some fun sights. We checked into our hotel room and got our wristbands. We rode some of the roller coasters until dinner-time.

Off the grid and away again
Last Saturday morning, I anxiously got ready and left for Tennessee, to meet and pick up my girl. I drove 5 hours, 300 some miles to get there. Sat and waited until her dad's van came into view.
It was a wonderful reunion, after 6 weeks in Florida, I was blown away by how much I'd missed her and how much I love her.
I just haven't been able to get enough of her even yet.

Birthday's and Floorboards
Friday was my birthday and yesterday was the fireman and my 2nd anniversary! We've been on the town!
I turned 31. Yipes! And we went to see Crazy, Stupid Love, with Steve Carrell and Julianne Moore. Amazing movie, by the way. Seriously funny and seriously sweet. And ate supper at the Flat Top Grill. Yum.... and surprisingly healthy. He got me a really nice slim Nikon camera for my birthday! No more out of focus camera pics here, folks! He knows me so well, It' purple.

Text from the Fireman:
Couldn't figure out why the vacuum wasn't cleaning the floor - turned over and found the brush SMOOTH with red hair....
Checked house - couldn't find either red-haired babboon or Irish Setter (Duchess *our dog* was disappointed at not finding the Setter).
So, did the girl have a Reba wig that she took apart or could there be another origin for the pound of red hair...
Hmmm, I wonder.

The Bathroom
This bathroom has been a work in project for quite some time.
At one point it was finished, as a full, large shower only with white 4x4 tile above the shower walls and across the ceiling.
Then, the shower pan cracked, manufacturer's fault, credit was issued and I was able to persuade hubby to a nice, large tub. I love a good soak.
Hubby had to rip out the tile to take down the shower walls, to get to the shower pan.
So, we ordered the tub, but we got stuck working on the livingroom and the roof, and the beautiful tub sat in the garage.
We have another shower downstairs, by the way.
We finished getting the remainder of the ceiling tile out of the shower area and the ceiling was open to the attic for a couple of days.
Yesterday, the fireman got the green board up.
