Text from the Fireman:

Couldn't figure out why the vacuum wasn't cleaning the floor - turned over and found the brush SMOOTH with red hair....

Checked house - couldn't find either red-haired babboon or Irish Setter (Duchess *our dog* was disappointed at not finding the Setter).

So, did the girl have a Reba wig that she took apart or could there be another origin for the pound of red hair...

Hmmm, I wonder.

*Pound my patootie*
*He thinks he's sooooo funny*

The Bathroom

This bathroom has been a work in project for quite some time.

At one point it was finished, as a full, large shower only with white 4x4 tile above the shower walls and across the ceiling.

Then, the shower pan cracked, manufacturer's fault, credit was issued and I was able to persuade hubby to a nice, large tub. I love a good soak.

Hubby had to rip out the tile to take down the shower walls, to get to the shower pan.

So, we ordered the tub, but we got stuck working on the livingroom and the roof, and the beautiful tub sat in the garage.

We have another shower downstairs, by the way.

We finished getting the remainder of the ceiling tile out of the shower area and the ceiling was open to the attic for a couple of days.

Yesterday, the fireman got the green board up.

Love affairs, beef and dieting.

So, my ceiling rocks socks.

I heart my ceiling.

That sounds strange, but I don't care. I'm in a love affair with my ceiling and you can't tell me it's wrong.

My parents came to visit Saturday afternoon, we took them to supper. We double dated with my parents.

The Hole

Finally got a call from the plasterer. He's coming tomorrow morning at 8:30am! Hubby works today and will have an overtime day tomorrow. We didn't want to have to wait any longer, so I'm taking a couple of hours off on Friday morning to be home for him and then will go in to work.

Remember this hole? It's where we took out the wall.
Tomorrow it'll be gone.

Life, movies and gardening

With the girl gone, the fireman and I have been going to see movies, out to eat and spending more quality time together when the boys are at their mom's. It's been a lot of fun. I miss her a lot, but it's nice having some one on one time with the hubby.

Last Friday, the fireman was at work, and I went to see Harry Potter by myself. It was great! Oddly enough, I always thought it'd be weird to go to a movie by myself, but it totally wasn't. I loved every minute of it. Great ending!

If you ever

If you have ever:

~Stood over your gas stove with a marshmallow on a fork.
~Stood with your arm stuck in your toaster oven with a marshmallow on a long fork-like utensil.
~Decided that both methods are messy and found out that you can actually MICROWAVE marshmallows.
~Figured out that marshmallows expand enormously, which is UBER fun to watch.
~Get frustrated that said marshmallow then rolls off your graham cracker.

THESE are for you.

To totally enrich your lives, you NEED these.

Flooring

Last summer, when the fireman and I saw some laminate flooring on sale at Menards, we went ahead and bought it. Even though, the wall that we took down wasn't done yet and the beams weren't up. It was a good price and we thought we were getting a good deal.

As time went on, we started to wonder if laminate is the best thing to use.

A few weeks ago, he brought the laminate into the house. It needed to get to room temperature to acclimate itself before we can lay the flooring. Incase the temperature was different in the garage.

I got home from work and saw them in the hallway, stacked up.

Independence Day

Sunday, the fireman and I went to my aunt and uncle's 50th Anniversary party, up near my mom's house. It was a great time. I had so much fun chatting with family. I got to see some people I don't get to see very often.

I have a great family.

The 4th of July, I had off work. It was a slow, relaxing day.

The middle boy was sick and in bed all day and it was just us and the youngest boy. *The girl is still in FL with her dad and went to see the fireworks on the beach!* We took the yougest boy to the 'big city' fireworks, which is only 25 minutes away. It's was on the river and you can watch on either side of the river.

We arrived around 7:30pm with our chairs, walked down to the park by the river and found a nice spot near the radio station's tent. They had fun light rock to listen to. The two guys walked to the nearby Subway and bought us some subs and water for dinner.

Around 8pm, they had an airshow!
